Silver Care Guide
Buff after every wear
Gently wipe your silver with a soft microfibre cloth after each wear to remove skin oils. Use a suitable silver polishing cloth gently on the metal, avoiding pearls and other delicate stones. Avoid paper towels and rough fabrics.
Put jewellery on last
Put your jewellery on after perfume, lotion, hairspray and sunscreen have dried. Take it off before swimming, showering, exercising, sleeping and household chores.
Store dry and separately
Keep each piece separately in a pouch in a cool, dry, dark place. Lay chains flat to avoid tangling. A silica gel packet in your jewellery box helps absorb excess moisture.
Clean gently
For plain metal and suitable set stones, use warm water with a small drop of mild dish soap, then rinse and dry completely. Do not soak pearls or porous stones. For a pearl piece, wipe the surrounding metal with a barely damp cloth and keep liquid off the pearl.
Protect the rhodium finish
Rhodium is a surface finish that wears over time. Avoid abrasive toothpaste and baking soda, bleach, ammonia, silver dips and ultrasonic cleaners. Ask a jeweller if a stone is loose, the finish is worn, or you are unsure which cleaning method is safe.
